About The Sedbergh Area Walking & Cycling Group
The group was originally inspired by the Walkers Are Welcome towns project. In August 2015 Sedbergh was accepted as a member of the scheme.
We decided to include cycling in our plans, not least because some of us have also been influenced by the ideas and principles of Sustrans.
Our aim is to encourage more people to walk and cycle in this area, whether they be locals or visitors. We hope thereby to:
- Encourage a more healthy lifestyle generally,
- Bring prosperity to our town, and
- Do all this within a broadly green agenda.
If you have any ideas about how to encourage walking and cycling in this area, please e‑mail Carole Nelson, our secretary, or ring her on 015396‑21770
If you are interested in rights of way, the Yorkshire Dales National Park or the Ramblers Association, please contact Malcolm Petyt, our chairman. E‑mail him on email@example.com or telephone 015396‑21574.
For information about our guided walks, contact Keith Birbeck, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or on 015396–20941.
Regarding this website, please e‑mail Robert Powell, or ring him on 015396‑20482. The Sedbergh Gateway has been designed with the sight–impaired and dyslexics in mind. Any comments rearding accessibility would be particularly welcome.
